For this activity we have to list 10 food items that we would take with us if we were to go to sea and explain why we chose those items.
Hardtack biscuits - Hardtack is long-lasting
Honey - If honey is stored properly it can last for years, possibly longer because of its low moisture content
Canned peaches - Because canned fruits are usually packaged in acid solution they can last for years
White Rice - White rice will maintain its flavour for 30 years if stored in oxygen-free containers
Canned spaghetti - Canned food usually last for 1-4 years
Nuts - Nuts can last up to 6 months without refrigeration
Dried fruit - Dried fruit will last from 6-12 months
Crackers - Crackers will last for 6-9 months
Dried beans - Dried beans can last for years because of their naturally low moisture content

Hey Riiana!
Lovely to see all your blog posts. You have done an amazing job and are definitely on your way to potentially win some prizes that we’ve got. So keep up the awesome work!
Wow you have done such a superb job on creating a thoughtful list of items that you will take on your voyage. I would also bring oats and canned peaches on my voyage. Oats fills you up for longer (especially if it’s got seeds and grains). Canned Peaches would be easy to snack on.. You have given great reasons to why you would bring these food items.
I also really like how you’ve created a DLO (digital learning object), it really makes your blog post pop! You should try Google Docs next time. Can’t wait for your next blog!
Blog you later,
Georgia
Kia ora Georgia!
Thank you for being so supportive and thank you for the suggestion! I'll try to remember that.

Hi Riiana,
I liked how you gave a very detailed explanation on how long the different food items that you chose could last, I also liked how you chose a lot of dried and sealed food. Did you know that honey can last forever?
Kia ora Alex,
I did not know that! That's awesome!! As a honey fan that is wonderful to know!!
Thank you for commenting on my blog! I appreciate the time you have spent on each comment you have written on this blog!
