Week 2 Bonus 2: Crossing the Tasman

The place we all know,
Where the poppies all grow,
Was once filled with sorrow
I am at home
now all grown.
I see the smiles of my family,
It makes me feel love.
My eyes have tears
Since all my fears are gone
And I was able to stay strong.

Hi Riiana,

Ruby here from the Summer Learning Journey team!

Great work with this poem. Well done! It can be very difficult to write poems. I know I would much rather write a story! But you've done a great job. I particularly like how you have ended the poem. It's like landing the plane got rid of all his fears, and I like that image.

How do you think his family were feeling on the ground? I'm pretty sure they would have been very nervous.

I look forward to reading more of your blog over the summer.
Cheers,
Ruby.

Heya Ruby! I imagine that they'd be nervous along with feeling scared and worried.

Hi Riiana,

I think you're right! It would be pretty nerve racking! But they also might have been hopeful, hoping that the pilot would land safely on the ground.

Cheers,
Ruby.
