This poem make makes me feel happy that people were willing to sacrifice their life for their country. It also makes me feel bad that some didn't get to see the battle through to the end as well as their family's smiles. I liked that poem.

I like that you have spoken about feeling sad and happy after reading the poem. It's a mixture of emotions because the soldiers did something very honorable yet it was tragic that their families lost so many loved ones.
You certainly gain a lot of respect for those soldiers who helped make our country the safe and peaceful place it is today.
